Steve Jobs home in Mountain View

I started to read the new Walter Isaacson Steve Jobs biographySteve Jobs biography. Here are just some of the interesting San Francisco Bay Area area real estate insights I’ve already discovered:

The finance company where Paul worked as a repoman, CIT, had transferred him down to its Palo Alto office, but he could not afford to live there, so they landed in a subdivision in Mountain View, a less expensive town just to the south

The Jobs family owned a house in Mountain View from 1959 to 1967. Their 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house, at 286 Diablo Avenue still stands near Mayfield apartments. The home according to real estate estimates, has a value of approximately $850,000. Now not everyone could afford home in Mountain View, but back then an average family living on one salary could easily buy a home in Bay Area.
