Mountain View Whisman School District attendance area

Mountain View Whisman School District attendance boundaries could change for the 2012-13 school year. The changes are being considered in the interest of controlling school size, encouraging students to walk to school and to reduce the demand for busing in the school district.

The three areas under consideration are as follows:

  • The homes bounded by Latham Street, Escuela Avenue, El Camino Real and South Rengstorff Avenue, currently a Bubb elementary school attendance area, would switch to a Castro elementary school attendance area
  • The homes bounded by Central Expressway, Chiquita Avenue, California Street and Escuela Avenue, currently a Bubb elementary school attendance area, would switch to a Castro elementary school attendance area
  • The homes bounded by Central Expressway, South Rengstorff Avenue, California Street and Ortega Avenue, currently a Castro elementary school attendance area, would switch to a Monta Loma elementary school attendance area

There will be changes down the road in Mountain View home price in affected area, despite the fact that Castro elementary school API scores have risen considerably and is now over 800.
